Monday, February 20, 2012 = Day 50 - Long Walks In The Park with Noom, I think I'm in love!

Today was my official first day of getting into disciplined thoughts and actions for Bod 4 God. I thought I could use a little help so I checked my Android Market for some tools.  One of the best tools I found today is called Noom Weight Loss Coach (No it's not associated with Rob Bell and no we won't automatically be saved from our unhealthiness) and it basically tracks your calorie intake, coaches you with suggestions, has forums where you can get support, and tracks your workouts.  Today I utilized it to count all the calories I took in.  Meals and Snacks can be included there.  Based on your weight it gives you a preset amount of calories that you should eat to hit your weight loss goal.  The workout tracker has at least 30 different workouts that you can track like walking, inline skating, hiking, elliptical, stationary biking, P90X, and many more so you can change your workout for the day based on what you want to do that day.  For your workout you can add music in. I was surprise when I started my workout that the music automatically started.  I wasn't expecting that.  You can set it to do a playlist from your phone or all your songs.  The screen with the music keeps up with your workout time and this particular instance it kept up with my steps and the amount of miles I walked and how many calories I burned.  It utilized GPS technology to track this too.  We did get the free version and I think Elizabeth really wants the premium version.  It really seems like a great tool.

Another thing I did (so that I could be more accurate and disciplined with the way I eat) is pull out the food scale.  I usually use my food scale to weigh out meat for brisket plates or to measure amounts to figure out food costs.  Today though I was measuring the ounces of meat I was eating since you need to know that to accurately determine how many calories are in it.  I think the combination of Noom and the food scale will help me to reach my goals and attain a Bod 4 God.

Of course we aren't neglecting the spiritual part of this either.  We are rising and praying. Rockies we are praying for you.  Pastor you are always in our prayers and we continue to pray for God's anointing over you as you lead us.  We look forward to what Bod 4 God has for us and how God will utilize it to make us more useful for his kingdom.  Pray for us as we do this together!  We love you all!
