I wondered to God for a friend today. I wondered why he's going through the things he's going through. I prayed for him and tears were in my eyes when I though of his situation. He found out last night that his daughter has a debilitating disease. The fact is that my friend is a great guy. A faithful husband and father and a dedicated friend. He's the person you wish you could be like. He's a guy that does so much for everyone and always has a kind word. I asked God why today. I wondered and I wrote this:
God, I wonder why this happened to my friend
I don't know why, I can not comprehend
Why must he go through the toil and pain
Why is he suffering, why isn't this plain?
He would do anything for you,this I know
He'd walk through fire if you told him so
So I wonder why he's hurt and afflicted
I think of him and the pain that's depicted
I see his million-mile-away glance
why's this his lot, his circumstance?
He trusts you with all that he is and will be
So why must he suffer this, what must he see?
He would gladly take on her undying pain
This daddy would endure it again and again
To see his little girl whole, he would take it all
He'd do what you say, he'd answer your call
To show his love he'd die in her place
Just like you did for the whole human race
He'd take the beatings, and condemnation
He'd take it all, with no justification
Lord, you know why your servant hurts so
but why him Lord? Will this make him grow?
Will this make him trust you even more than he does?
Will this make him walk closer and closer in love?
Whatever it is, please hold him, with love
Comfort him, please, with your Spirit above
Carry him when he's too weak to walk
Give him your words when he's too weak to talk.
Lord, bring healing for him and for her
Guide him, Lord, help him to see through this blur
He needs you tonight, give him your touch
Whatever it is Lord, he loves you so much.
